Vegan bowls, buddha bowls, hippie bowls (my favorite term), power bowls, or whatever you want to call them; these are by far the easiest vegan dishes to make.
But why vegan bowls?
You may think that these “vegan bowls” are just a trend, but I can straight up tell you that YOU ARE WRONG! (no offense) The main reason why this is an average vegan’s go to meal is because they are:
- An easy way to portion your meals
- Help insecure sure you are hitting all your daily intakes of vitamins, minerals etc.
- The perfect way to make sure you get in carbs, protein, and healthy fats into every meal
and last…
- Because there isn’t a right or wrong way to do them
There are endless combinations when it comes to these bowls and you can honestly put together items that you never thought would go with one another. Having a base for your bowl is the first step and this can be greens (spinach, kale, romaine) Noodles, Raw veggies or Fruit. After you get your base the toppings are endless!
Last you can sign that bad boy off with a dressing or delicious home-made sauce. No matter how you end it, you will be hit with a shot of endless flavors and textures.
“Hippie” bowls are fun to put together and truly the best way to get leftovers or food that are close to spoiling out of your fridge. My last and final tip for making these bowls is:
“The more colors you have, the more nutrients you receive”
Down below are 3 of my favorite bowls to make. One for breakfast, one for lunch and one for din din. I hope these inspire you to experiment and try out some of your own combinations. You never know, you might discover the next epic creation in the vegan world.
Breakfast
Triple Berry Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie
- 1 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberry
- 1/2 cup strawberry
- 1 cup almond milk
Toppings
- Blackberries
- Trader Joe’s Hemp seeds
- 3 strawberries (quartered)
- 1 Sliced banana
- Trader Joe’s Pecan Praline Granola
- Trader Joe’s Chia seeds
Pro Tip:
When Blending frozen fruits with milk, first add milk to the bottom of the blender, then add frozen fruit. Set aside and let the fruit defrost for up to 5 mins. Blend and gradually add more milk to get a thick consistency if needed. After all, we don’t want a runny smoothie bowl. Last, proceed to decorate as you please 🙂
