In the spirit of Cinco De Mayo, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite Margarita recipes. This is my go to during the spring because of how refreshing, easy, and delicious it is. This Spicy Mango Margarita will change your life and become one of your staples.
This recipe seriously takes only 10 minutes to make and is damn good! I have listed all the ingredients and directions below. You can definitely make this non-alcoholic. I would swap out the alcohol for a citrus sparkling water.
Pro Tip:
If you have access to a grill or griddle pan, roast two Jalapeños to use in this cocktail. The smokey accent to this cocktail will rock your socks. I love doing this for summer cookouts such as Memorial Day, Father’s day, or even just a get together with my girls.
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 oz Blanco Tequila – I used Casamigos
- 1 oz Cointreau (orange liquor)
- 1 fresh mango, diced large
- 1-2 oz Fresh Lime Juice (the juice of one lime)
- 2 small Jalapeños
- limes for garnish
How to make this beauty
Pro Tip:
Like i said above, if you have access to a griddle pan or a grill or hell even an open flame on the range of your stove- start by charring both the Jalapeños until they have blackened. Skip this if you’re not really into the smokey flavor- but trust me…you’re going to regret not having it.
Instructions
- First start by rimming a short cocktail glass with a lime. Make sure this evenly done around the entire rim.
- On a small plate combined kosher salt and chili powder until well combined. (if you have trader Joe’s Chili Lime Seasoning this also works amazing.) Dip glass in mixture and set aside.
- In a cocktail shaker, add sliced Jalapeños, a few chucks of mango, and lime juice. Muddle ingredients together until well combined.( if you don’t have a shaker, you can also use a mason jar with a lid. I surely did back in my day when your girl’s coin didn’t match her lifestyle haha)
- Next, add tequila, Cointreau, mango juice, and ice cubes.
- SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE!
- Fill prepared glass with ice cubes and pour over cocktail
- Last, Garnish a skewer with a slice of lime, Mango and Jalapeño.
- ENJOY!!!! YAS
